Codies Weekly Update 04-04-14
Whatever we did, whatever we said we didn’t mean it, we just want you back for good, want you back, want you back, want you back for good.
We’re back like Take That and our often requested but missing member has decided to rejoin the band – the Codemasters Forums are back and better than ever!
As you guessed, this week’s big story is the launch of the new-look Codemasters Forums and there are already some great topics going up, so come join in and pretend to do work at your desk while secretly talking about cars and videogames.
Here are some handy links to get you started:
Take a read of those and get yourself logged in then come and join in with some of our pick of the posts this week:
- ThierryNeuville wants to know what your favourite livery is
- PeteTheDuck says hi and everybody starts to catch up
- Loore says welcome back to the GRID fans and is on the lookout for mods
- Azoresst was straight in with the Next game DiRT wishlist
- And I’ve been wondering what next gen console you may have picked up while the forums were down
Special Effect at Rezzed
As you may have read in last week’s update we took GameJam title Soap to Rezzed and we were absolutely thrilled by the response of everybody that played it and took the time to find out about the amazing work that Special Effect do. In particular we were really taken back by this article from Holly at PixelDynamo which is well worth a read.
The Codies League Championship continues and this week’s Race at Spa featured some of the best online racing we’ve ever seen! We’ll have the full round up with comments from the drivers on the blog next week but for now check out the Highlights and Follow us over on Twitch.tv to ensure you never miss a race
This weekend is the Bahrain GP and the third race of what is turning out to be a real rollercoaster of a season, keep up to date with all the latest news from Sakhir by following @Formula1game on Twitter and we’d love to know who you’re cheering on this season over on Facebook.
The DiRT Team are gearing up for the Rally De Portugal and we want to hear your predictions for Sunday. Can Ogier do it again or will we see somebody else on top this weekend? Visit the Motorsport section on the Forums or tweet us your predictions.
Fun fact for the weekend – Ford make up 49% of the line up at Rally De Portugal

The GRID Team have been really hard at work behind the scenes and you may have noticed a few signals that this might be the case but we are now proud to announce that it is full steam ahead on our next title – GRID Railroad. We understand that this might have got a few of our hardcore fans in a bit off a puff but when one you get to play it for yourselves you’ll agree that we’ve really got the franchise back on track.
Here are just a few of the amazing things you have been saying about our new game

Also, (and completely unrelated) this week it was April Fool’s day, we’re sad that we forgot to do a joke :(

This week’s Tweet of the week goes to @TRL_Limitless one for the drivers in the Codies League Championship who had some high praise for this week’s event in Spa

This week’s RaceNet event for F1 2013 is set up to run alongside the Bahrain Grand Prix and challenges you to set the fastest lap possible in a Merecedes. Think you can beat who ever sets the faster lap in qualifying? Be sure to tweet @Formula1game a screenshot if you do.
And we also happen to have a fresh round of Global Challenges that went live in GRID 2 this morning.
It’s been a busy old week and we only managed to announce one game… OK we fess up GRID Railroad may have been an April fool. We’ll start working on an announcement for something that’s more your kind of thing.
That’s your lot, thanks for coming and we’ll be back with another update next week.
