Codies Weekly update 25-04-14
This week is one big huge sigh of relief as we can finally stop teasing you all and start talking about what we’ve been up to these last few months. So let’s get right to it with this week’s Big News which comes courtesy of @BenWalke.
GRID Autosport – Announce Week Recap
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind these last few days since the GRID Autosport announcement and we’ve been completely blown away by the feedback we’ve received, not to mention the enthusiasm that everyone is showing for the game.
Unlike previous announcements where details have been a bit thin on the ground we’ve come out all engines revving this time around but with plenty of information out there we understand if you may have missed one or two things, we’re still playing catch up ourselves!
Not to worry though, we’ve got you covered.
1080p / 60 FPS Footage
If you’ve watched the announcement trailer but want to see it running in glorious 1080p at 60 frames a second then head over to Gamersyde who are exclusively hosting the video.
There’s a whole host of previews and interviews scattered across the internet talking about GRID Autosport but if you’ve not had a chance to catch up here’s five to get you started:
- GRID Autosport is the Codemasters racing game you’ve been waiting for – Eurogamer
- When we do a next gen game it won’t be a current gen port – Videogamer
- GRID Autosport Strips Down to its Racing Roots – IGN
- GRID Autosport Preview – Game Reactor
- GRID Autosport Preview – gameinformer
Ravenwest are Back!
Ravenwest are a team that instil fear into the heart of any true GRID fan and we’re pleased to announce they are back in GRID Autosport.
Race your way
Making sure GRID Autosport is fun for anybody to play is something that is really important to us and to help customise the game to suit you we’ve added in loads of customisable options and assists. Head here to check out the settings you’ll have at your disposal.
Now that we’ve announced GRID Autosport we’d love to hear your thoughts, questions and feedback. We’ll even settle for some cake recipes! So if you have something to get off your chest or a question to ask then simply drop us an email to and we’ll answer them next week.
Where to next?
Well this week was just a warm up lap and next week we’ll kick off with loads more news and information including: a look at two locations which are making a welcome return, an in depth look at the Touring discipline, another team reveal and more!
We hope you’re as excited for GRID Autosport as we are and if you want to talk about it more with some likeminded fans (and us), there isn’t a better place than the new look forums.
We feel kind of sad the Codies GP is over, it was a great season and it will definitely be making a return in the future. @LukeSpringUK catches up with some of the drivers and the team principals for their comments on the inaugural season. Catch up with all the news and watch the replay of the race here.
We’re making the final prep for the DiRT Rally Championship if you want to get in on the action. Signups are still live with details of the first stages getting announced next Thursday. Think you’ve got what it takes? Prove it!

Apologies, but we’re going to be greedy and give this week’s honour to ourselves.
