Codemasters Southam was delighted to host a visit from the wonderful people at SpecialEffect last week. Coming to speak to Codemasters about the amazing work SpecialEffect do, Dr Mick Donegan gave an inspiring studio-wide talk on some of the technology and principles the charity use to modify games and peripherals to ensure those with disabilities can enjoy video games.
Dr Donegan also shared some wonderful anecdotes of stories and instances where individual players have had their video game experiences transformed by the help and support on offer from the charity.
Nick Streeter, SpecialEffect fundraiser, gave a heartfelt thanks to Codemasters for its ongoing support of SpecialEffect, citing the recent Go-Karting Event, Rough Runner fundraising and One Special Day plans later on this year.
Following the talk, many of the studio stayed behind to discuss how going forward, Codemasters can be more inclusive in its development. The visit was a huge success with the Southam office, we look forward to hosting further talks from SpecialEffect in our Cheshire and Birmingham studios in the near future.
