September. The most mischievous of months. The sun’s setting earlier, the air’s a little more brisk, and summer vacations are winding down. Booooo.
Whether you’re heading back to school, dragging the little ones back to class, or just moaning at the bloated rush-hour traffic, it’s good to have something to get excited about at this time of year. Look no further than the Racing Line, which is – as per usual – absolutely crammed full of big Codesmasters news and fun stuff from the past two weeks. Put that textbook down, stop ironing that shirt, and join us for some Racing Line fun.
Shall we kick off with the title voted Best Racing Game at 2019’s biggest consumer gaming event in the world? Yeah, let’s do that.
We may not quite be on the home stretch in terms of getting hyped for the brand new GRID’s launch, but we’re certainly screeching through the final sector. In just over a month, GRID makes its long-awaited return, with the new game launching on October 11, with Ultimate Edition owners snagging three days’ early access. Confirm your place on the GRID by pre-ordering now for Xbox One, PS4 or PC, and make sure you’re clued up on what Ultimate Edition goodies you’ll get on launch and beyond.
The last two weeks have been all about content for GRID, going much deeper into all the things you’ll have at your fingertips in the world of GRID. We kicked off the last fortnight by confirming the circuits coming to GRID on launch: 13 destinations, scattered across the globe, comprising of real-life race-ready tracks, to unique exhilarating street circuits, and everything in between. From Kuala Lumpur to Barcelona, Silverstone to Shanghai, we’ve hand-picked these circuits on the basis of fun, variety, beauty and challenge.
But that’s just the start. Within those circuits are over 80 different routes, with reverse route options, wet weather and night racing available for every circuit, and the freedom to race any car, on any track, in any scenario. Oh, and we’ll be adding more circuits, for free, after October 11. Yeesh.
That’s the circuits, but what about the cars? We’ve been slowly revealing rides for GRID over recent months, but last week, over 40 more cars were added to the confirmed car list on launch – from iconic Ferraris, to JDM legends, modern-day track beasts, touring car heroes and so much more. Check out the car list and tell us which one you’ll be getting behind the wheel of first.
As we’ve mentioned, that’s *almost* the complete GRID car list for next month, but not quite. In fact, tomorrow we’ll be revealing a new gameplay video that unveils another new car, as well as a closer look at Sydney Motorsport Park. Here’s a little something to get you ready for tomorrow…
Before we go any further, as we’re sure you’re all aware, F2 driver Anthoine Hubert tragically passed away after a crash at the Circuit Spa-Francorchamps over the weekend. Our thoughts are with all of Anthoine’s family, friends and loved ones, as well as the entirety of the F2 paddock.

DiRT Rally 2.0
Season 3 of DiRT Rally 2.0 is here with 2 new cars available to drive today, the SUBARU Impreza (2001) and Ford Focus RS Rally 2001. Head to our YouTube channel to catch high-speed gameplay of both.
Greece Rally is next week and along with the standard suite of improvements over the DiRT Rally version comes a new addition: rain. One of the available Stage Conditions sees you take on the Stages at Sunset with Heavy Rain, which is sure to be a challenge.
Also next week is the start of our competitive gaming series. You’ll have seen the UI for this in-game already as part of this week’s Version 1.8 update, and that will unlock on September 10. Version 1.8 also added DirtFish to Freeplay, resolved some prominent Clubs issues, tweaked VR performance and more.
Also unlocking next week is a new car, the BMW M2 Competition. This new addition to the Rally GT Class is typically brutish and a lot of fun to throw sideways. You can already drive it today in Freeplay, Custom Championships, Time Trial and Multiplayer but next week you’ll be able to unlock a special version for My Team to use in your Career Events.
That’s it from me this time, be sure to check out the DiRT Roadbook tomorrow for all things DiRT as we look ahead to next week.
F1® Mobile Racing
As soon as Update 7 dropped at the beginning of August, the team have been hard at work looking at even more ways to add content and optimise the live game to make your experience even better. We’re super pleased to be taking community feedback and putting that into the game, with Update 8 adding more laps for Single races (now up to 15) and bringing in some more R&D cards to discover and research.
There are a few more additions, too, as well as the usual technical and visual tweaks to keep upping the standard for F1® Mobile Racing. We’ve been running some maintenance checks today to get things ready, and Update 8 is now imminent, so watch this space for more news.
Any Other Business?
