International Women’s Day 2020: Meet Manisha

Today it’s International Women’s Day, and we’re getting to know the fantastic women that work here at Codemasters. Next up, we sat with Manisha Jhitta to talk about her job, and ask her for her advice to women wanting to get into the industry.

 

Hi Manisha! Could you tell us what your job is at Codemasters?

I’m the office manager for the Birmingham Studio, I am responsible for anything that comes in, leaves and is inside the studio.

 

How long have you been here at Codemasters?

I’ve been here for 2 months and so far I am loving it!

 

How long have you been in the industry for?

I’ve been in the games industry for almost 2 years.

 

What’s your favourite bit of your job?

I really enjoy having a critical role in the day-to-day operations of such a busy and renowned studio. Every day is different but my favourite bit of my job is that I get to build relationships with people from different departments within the company. I get to channel my own creativity and passion for inclusivity and diversity within the studio. I get the freedom to implement my own skills and experience to bridge the gaps between the teams to really embody the ‘One Codemasters’ motto. I also get to plan really fun things inside and outside the working day which is great!

 

What advice do you have for women trying to get into the industry?

It can be super scary feeling to be a woman in such a male-dominated industry, but my advice would be to embrace it! Let it empower you and drive your ambition, it’s always a great time to be a trailblazing woman in games!
