Combine one of the best circuits in the world with some of the best F1 2013 players and you have the third round of the Codies League Championship, and what a race it was.

The GP started with a very wet qualifying session in which TRL Martin secured pole with a best lap of 1.52.312. His team-mate TRL Limitless took second with two-time winner Noble 2909 securing third.

The race was an incredible spectacle of clean racing with non-stop action throughout. Key battles broke out between the top three drivers as well as an incredible Pinnacle team-mate effort that saw both Sam F1LFC and RTAY96 fight for the points. Missed the race? Watch the full replay below.

We caught up with some of the drivers after the race, here’s what they had to say.

Noble 2909 (AOR) – “A very hectic but enjoyable race! Starting 3rd on the grid after a very tricky, full wet weather qualifying, with the two TRL boys on the front row. The whole race was spent battling with Limitless and Martin from TRL, with a lot of strategic and tactical driving going on through-out. Unfortunately without any help from my team mate RandyMcScrandy1, who suffered a lag spike on the first lap dropping him to very near the back of the field it was always going to be a big ask.. He did well to fight through and eventually came home 5th to salvage some decent points for AOR. However, upfront, the last lap rolled around with myself and the two TRL boys still battling hard for the lead, and after some good, close racing, it was Limitless who played his cards better than me.  He got past on the run through Blanchimont and despite trying a move into the final chicane to get back ahead, it was to no avail, and 2nd place was my finishing position. A decent result to split the TRL boys on what I suspect to be my worst track chosen for this championship, so with all things considered, it was a decent points haul for AOR, and some good damage limitation. Some action still to come at America and Brazil no doubt, so looking forward to them!”

RandyMcScrandy1 (AOR) – “A really great opportunity for myself, but unfortunately the race wasn’t what I wanted in all honesty. A lag spike cost me the opportunity to back up Noble, who could have done with my help up there, and in the end damage limitation was our aim. In that sense the 18 point lead we retained is a positive.”

TRL Martin (TRL) – “Great result for TRL!! We needed to respond with a strong result at Spa to reduce the deficit to AOR going into the last two races. Personally for me I was a little bit disappointed to not grab the 2nd place from Noble or even the win as I felt I had stronger pace. But nevertheless it was very enjoyable to be fighting at the front with Limitless and Noble, as it’s always a lot of fun and challenging. America will be a crucial race for us as we need to reduce the gap to AOR as much as possible going into Brazil. It’s going to be tough, as any line-up AOR send out is going to incredibly fast but we’ll do our best. Thanks for a great race all.”

Phibes (VRL) – “What a tense race! For VRL, we only had one driver for this race because all our previous drivers were busy on the night, but Mr JokeIRz was there and what a good performance from him, considering he only had one hour of notice before the race started! He had a problem with a side pod glitch which spun him around, but he recovered to take 8th place and 4 points for VRL. [I’m] hoping for more points in the next race.”

The race has seen TRL close the gap on league leaders AOR by 18 points, down from 30. IFR remain third  but XRL are now only 8 points behind after a very strong performance from both O Velxcity and XRL Fearless that saw the league jump 2 places. VRL move down a position with 20 points while Pinnacle sit just behind with 14. UTR remain in 7th with 7 points.
