F1® Mobile Racing – Android Launch and Community Trailer

November 23, 2018

Ever since F1® Mobile Racing surged onto iOS devices in October, we’ve been flooded with messages from Android device owners, wanting to get in on the action. It’s been awesome to see that excitement on social channels, forums, videos – though the giant “RELEASE ON ANDROID” banner outside my flat was a bit surprising…

Today, the Android launch phase begins for F1® Mobile Racing, arriving on selected devices!

So, what exactly does that mean? The Android launch will be split into multiple phases, in which the game will be available for different ‘Tiers’ of devices. This first launch phase opens F1® Mobile Racing up to the most powerful Android devices. Shortly after this, another tier of devices will be able to run the game, and so on.

Our priority is ensuring that everyone can enjoy the full potential of F1® Mobile Racing, which is why we’re using this approach to the launch. It means we can assess performance on devices and make any of the tweaks required to ensure optimal performance on whatever mobile device you have. It’s all about giving you the best possible experience.

Devices in each tier will meet a set of technical requirements to be included. So, your device will be immediately able to play F1® Mobile Racing if it meets these specs:

  • OS: Android 7.1
  • Memory/RAM: 2GB RAM
  • GPU: Adreno 540 / Mali G76 (OpenGL ES 3.1)
  • CPU: Quad core at least 2.4Ghz
  • Screen resolution: 1920 x 1080 minimum
  • Device of reference: Sony Xperia XZ1

(A very small number of devices that meet these specs are not included due to technical matters, and will be added in future tiers. Please see our FAQs for more details)

So, if your device fits the bill, head to the Google Play Store right now and Compete, Customise and Dominate against the globe!

But, that’s not all…

Be In Our New Trailer

With the arrival of F1® Mobile Racing on Android and millions of downloads from the iOS App Store already, we’re looking to put the spotlight on the game’s best players to date.

Yes: it’s time to create a community trailer!

Whether it’s on YouTube, through our social channels, or even people on the street firing up the game for a couple of Duels, we’re seeing you guys Compete, Customise and Dominate on an epic scale. So, it’s only right that those players get the chance welcome in a new phase for F1® Mobile Racing, by being featured in the official Android launch trailer.

The fastest drivers, the League 1 high-flyers, the R&D specialists, the livery editors; we want ALL of you to be involved and showcased for the game’s next major milestone. Your skills will be shown to the world, all to the tune of the official F1 music anthem from Brian Tyler!

Sound like something you want to be involved in? We thought so – and getting in on the action is simple enough…

Capturing the footage through either your device’s tools or any external kit you have, we want you to record the most awesome gameplay of F1® Mobile Racing you can muster up. We’re looking for daring overtakes, opening R&D packs, switching up your custom car livery, or nailing a fastest lap – all of your highlights that show how much you’re enjoying the game.

You can either upload the footage to YouTube and send us a link to your clip, or send the footage to competitions@codemasters.com using a file transfer service (WeTransfer should do the trick!). We’re looking for pure gameplay footage, so no watermarks, commentary or additional stuff are needed. 1080/60fps is recommended, so we can broadcast your greatness in the best possible quality. ;)

Video entries for the community trailer can be submitted RIGHT NOW, so if you want to be featured globally as an F1® Mobile Racing hero, jump in and get recording!
