DIRT 5 – Playgrounds Revealed: New Arena Creator Mode Coming to All Platforms

Introducing DIRT 5’s Playgrounds mode – the groundbreaking, brand new feature coming to all versions of DIRT 5, launching from October 16. Playgrounds combines creativity and community for totally new experience for the franchise, as you design, upload, browse and play on player-made racing arenas.

Whether you choose the Arizona desert or the Cape Town Stadium in South Africa, in Playgrounds you are given a blank canvas and a huge suite of tools and objects – from dirt kickers, jumps and platforms, to loops, buses to leap over and rings of fire – to construct the racing arena of your dreams. The possibilities are endless for you to get creative, with three different event types to build your Playgrounds for: Gate Crasher, Gymkhana and Smash Attack.

Upload your Playgrounds to DIRT 5’s online roster, where all players can use filters to search through every uploaded design. Find sections dedicated to the highest-rated Playgrounds and studio-chosen designs, and post your best times and scores to a dedicated leaderboard for every single arena. That’s a small summary of this huge new feature, so we’ve created a detailed walkthrough of everything you need to know about Playgrounds before jumping in.

“Playgrounds is something we’ve wanted to share for some time. It’s unique for the DIRT franchise and, with endless possibilities, we can’t wait for our players to get creative,” said Robert Karp, DIRT 5 Development Director at Codemasters. “We still have more to come so keep your eyes peeled for more exciting DIRT5 news.”

Playgrounds adds an entirely new way to play DIRT 5, alongside the story-based Career mode, four-player split-screen, offline custom event creator, online 12-player action and more features, including a livery editor and photo mode. It’s all set in an amplified off-road racing world, with a vibe that encourages fun and constant action.

DIRT 5 launches on October 16 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with the Amplified Edition granting three days early access alongside a host of additional goodies. The Amplified Edition also comes with a 10% discount for players of any previous DIRT game! For PC and Xbox One, head to the game’s page on their official store for the discount – for PlayStation 4, use your console to head to the Game Hub of a previous DIRT game, where a 10% discount offer will be offered to you.

Playgrounds is included in all versions of DIRT 5, and the published creations of players on current-gen consoles will be carried over when you switch to next-gen consoles!

DIRT 5 also arrives on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 later this year, with a next-gen optimised version including faster loading times, even greater performance and 120fps modes for both platforms.
