As we’ve mentioned, the final of the inaugural DiRT World Championships will be held at Silverstone, during the first ever Speedmachine Festival. The festival takes place across the 25th-27th May, and is all set to be one of the most exciting events on the UK motorsport calendar – so let us talk you through what to expect from the weekend…
For those of you who don’t follow WRX, you might not have heard the news that RX Great Britain has moved from Lydden Hill to a brand new circuit configuration at Silverstone! And it just so happens that this inaugural race at Silverstone happens on this weekend. So, as well as virtual racing, you can expect the real deal from the FIA World Rallycross Championship too.
Fun and food
If you’re anything like us, you like good grub – and this festival will feature a stunning collection of the country’s best street food trucks. The team at Speedmachine have handpicked some of the country’s festival favourites for the occasion, so there’s no chance of you going hungry while you’re there.
It wouldn’t be a proper festival without any music – and Speedmachine doesn’t disappoint on that front! The Main Stage at the festival will feature some legendary headliner acts after the racing finishes for the day. There are plenty more acts to be announced – but with Basement Jaxx and DIzzee Rascal already on the bill, your evening’s entertainment is guaranteed.
The DiRT World Championships finale
There’s plenty more on over the weekend, but of course, the esports final factors as one of the most special for us! We’ll have whittled down our top players from around the world to just a handful – and we’re already looking forward to what promises to be a spectacular showdown.
